Nick Williams Racing - The Yard
Situated in the rolling hills of North Devon - Culverhill Farm is the home of Nick Williams Racing.
From here, Nick and his team have the privilege of training a small but select stable of National Hunt racehorses.
The facilities at Culverhill are world class and have been constantly refined, developed and improved by Nick and Jane since they bought the disused dairy farm in 2002. The farm spans 160 acres and has a 5 furlong all-weather gallop, arena, two schooling grounds, two grass circuit gallops, 15 turnout paddocks and stabling for over 40 racehorses.
The investment over the years has paid off. The team has won some of the most prestigious races in the calendar including A Hennessey Gold Cup, 3 Long Walk Hurdles, A Betfair Bowl, The Prix d'Automne in France and has had 3 Cheltenham Festival Winners - which is a phenomenal achievement for a small string of horses.

Nick Williams Racing - The Philosophy
Treating each horse as an individual is at the heart of our philosophy. Running a smaller string than many other top-tier racing yards allows us to tailor training programmes to suit each horse to allow them to maximise their full potential.
We feel it is important to recognise that the horse is a herd animal by nature and we turn all of them out every day in small groups. In our experience this leads to a more contented, happier and ultimately successful horse.
We take our time. The majority of our horses are bought as yearlings in France. Nick is fluent in the language, an expert in pedigrees and has built up excellent relationships with French breeders. We educate our young horses from an early age and take care to break them in steadily - this pays dividends later and prolongs their careers. A perfect example of this process is Reve De Sivola who Nick bought for 6,000 euros - he went on to win 6 Grade 1's and £625,501 including a win in Europe's richest hurdle race back in his native France over a ten year career.
We have a range of owners who share this philosophy from individuals through to partnerships and syndicates including My Racing Manager - who have gained two Cheltenham Festival winners with us, Chasing Gold and Larkhills Racing
